Type of service: Respite and short breaks

Barnardo's Worcestershire Short Breaks Service works in partnership with Worcestershire Children's Services Directorate who are a funding partner. The service provides family and community based short breaks to families and disabled children living in Worcestershire, including children on the autistic spectrum. This includes overnight and day care with carers approved under the Fostering Standards, and sitting and befriending through paid support workers and volunteers. The Service also runs youth groups for children who find it difficult to access mainstream facilities.
