Barnet SEND Information, Advice & Support Service (formerly Barnet Parent Partnership Service) offers free, confidential, impartial information, guidance, advice and support for parents/carers of children with special and additional educational needs via telephone or face-to-face meetings. The service offers free, confidential, and impartial Information, advice and support. This is for parents/carers of children with special educational needs (SEN) and or a disability and young people (over compulsory school age) with special educational needs and or a disability. The service is available to all young people or parents/carers of children with a SEN and or disability between the ages of 0 and 25 years that live in the borough of Barnet. We can offer: the opportunity for you to talk things through and voice your concerns; information and advice about Barnet's Local Offer; support when writing letters to school / Local Authority (LA); information about the law on SEN and disability, health and social care through trained staff; help with Education, Health and Care Plan needs assessment and processes; advice on issues around school placement; support at meetings (with appropriate notice); information on who to contact if you are not happy with a decision that has been made; advice on exclusions; information about other organisations that might be helpful to you; information booklets on a range of topics. We can provide: drop-ins for parents at schools and children's centres; talks to groups and organisations; advice on starting parent support groups in schools; and an annual conference..
