Barnsley CAMHS accepts referrals for children up to the age of 18 who are registered with a Barnsley GP. Examples of the type of issues and mental health problems that are referred to CAMHS are depression, psychosis, self harm, eating disorders, phobias, emotional and behavioural difficulties, sleep problems, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder. CAMHS in Barnsley are provided by the Child and Adolescent Unit and YPOS (specialist services) and the Community CAMHS Early Intervention Team. There is also a dedicated Mental Health Service for children and young people with learning disabilities.
