Family Link is a type of caring which enables the needs of a disabled child or young person to be met by someone other than their main carer. This may be for day care or for a longer period including overnight stays, but is usually agreed in advance, rather than in an emergency. Children and young people are linked with a family who can offer this service on a regular basis, to support the family who usually care for them.
