Behavioural Feeding Clinic
Main information
Type of service: Assessment, Interventions and therapies
The clinic is for children with different types of feeding problems, including:
- eating a very narrow range of foods
- eating very small quantities of food
- displaying difficult-to-manage behaviour at mealtimes.
Many of the children who attend the clinic have other difficulties, including autism spectrum disorders or medical conditions. For other children who attend the clinic, the main difficulty is with feeding. The team includes professionals from a number of different specialities to make sure we can properly identify and meet your child's needs. We call this a multidisciplinary team.
The team includes:
- a consultant paediatrician
- a dietitian
- an occupational therapist (OT)
- a speech and language therapist (SLT)
- a clinical psychologist.
The service can make independent expert report, make home visits, or make visits to a patient's school or nursery.
