Bethany Lodge
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
Bethany Lodge is situated in an attractive residential street in the City of Worcester and is a home for 7 adults with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Accommodation is far beyond the minimum care standard requirements and service users have bedrooms which in some cases are over double the 12 square metre base level. This is done to recognise the specific traits often associated with an autistic spectrum disorder and space is a key component in providing service users with a settled and calm environment. The home is comfortable, well equipped and has character. Colour schemes have been developed with Total Communication requirements in mind and all furniture is attractive and of good robust quality. Each resident has a spacious bedroom and en-suite (only one does not have a full bathroom suite) and there are large reception rooms on the ground floor. A multi-sensory room provides relaxation and there is an art room for activities. The grounds are secluded and offer plenty of space for service users to enjoy. Malvern Road is one of the best well established areas of the City and there is excellent access to the shopping centre and all of the other facilities. A bus stop is situated very close to Bethany Lodge for those service users who wish to use public transport but the home has its own vehicles and there are numerous activities organised in the community.
