The service provides a multi-disciplinary diagnostic service for children aged 0-4 years in Fylde, Wyre and Blackpool. The Team is made up of a Consultant Community Paediatrician, Associate Specialists, Specialist Health Visitors, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nursery Officers and Administration staff.
Assessment procedure: For children under 2 years there is an individual assessment with consultant community paediatrician, specialist health visitor at home, speech and language therapy, possible Griffiths assessment and visit to nursery if attending. For children over 2 years there is a joint and individual assessment for 2 hours on a Tuesday afternoon for 4 weeks until a feedback session at the end. Also home assessment and visit to nursery if indicated.
Follow up service: Yes, consultant community paediatrician.
