Borders NHS Board provide strategic leadership and direction for all NHS services in the Scottish Borders. NHS Boards are intended to ensure the efficient, effective and accountable governance of their local NHS system, focusing on health outcomes and people's experience of the NHS. The new NHS Boards will play a major part in ensuring that national clinical and service standards are delivered in all parts of Scotland by unified, local systems of care. The new Borders NHS Board is a fully integrated NHS Service that covers all the facilities of the former trusts in the area, including those of the Borders Primary Care NHS Trust and the Borders General Hospital NHS Trust.
