Bracken Hill School is a special school designed to meet the needs of children and young people with learning difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties. The school acknowledges first that the causes of learning difficulty are extremely varied (including autism and Asperger syndrome) and adopts flexible and individual strategies to meet each child's personal, social and educational needs. Pupils are educated in mixed groups. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Other disabilities catered for by the school are chromosome disorders.
