Brandon Trust - Tremoor (Cornwall)
Main information
Type of service: Supported living schemes
Tremoor is a detached bungalow in Par, Cornwall. It houses up to four males in a supported living setting. It caters for people with varied and complex sensory needs and communication difficulties. The staff team receive specific training to increase their awareness and enable them to give support to people in a person centred way. Activites that are offered include art, massage, trampolining, horse riding, music, massage and aromatherapy. Each person living at Tremoor has their own bedroom that can be personalised to meet individual taste. Tremoor has a sensory garden which is used frequently in the summer and a sensory room containing an extensive range of equipment that can be used to help meet sensory needs. Support staff are aware of the need for stucture and consistency and have been successful in supporting people to become more independent, increasing their self esteem in the process. Communication boards and visual aids specific to each individual are used to help give reassurance and to aid with anxiety.
