Aimed at young people aged 14-19 years of age, the Brandon Trust summer camp is a week-long activity holiday based at the Scout Association National Activity Centre at Woodhouse Park in Almondsbury, near Bristol..
The training centre is used as our base, with the young people staying in shared bedrooms, in or next to the centre. The young people attending have learning disabilities or autism. Youngsters with restricted mobility need to be able to transfer between their bed and chair, without the use of a hoist..
The week focusses on a number of activities, most of which happen onsite and include: Woodwork; Cookery; Cake decorating; Rifle shooting; Low/high ropes; Ceramics; Football; Go karting; Archery; Bushcraft and arts & crafts and Evening campfire. .
Brandon Trust raises funds to reduce the cost of this holiday and asks that each person attending pay £350 towards it. A deposit of £100 should be made at the time of booking with the balance due before the end of June, 2017..
