The name of the unit for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the Learning Resource Centre. This resource base is situated in a mainstream comprehensive school. The pupils admitted have a diagnosis that specifies Asperger syndrome or speech and language disorders. All pupils are integrated into mainstream classes with some support. Pupils are withdrawn for speech and language therapy and follow a social use of language program. The base stays open for the pupils during break and lunchtimes offering alternative activities for these pupils. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
