Burgess Care

Main information

Type of service: Residential services, Supported living schemes

Burgess Care provides 24 hour residential care to adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities and supports people to gain voluntary work and to attend college to develop themselves. Service users currently enjoy off site activities such as bowling, swimming, horse riding, play zone, meals out etc. There is a life skills centre on site that provides activities such as money management, travel training, cookery, domestic skills etc. There is also a sensory room on site. There are three independent flats on site which are a stepping stone to living in the community. Individuals are still supported by staff to enhance their independence skills in areas such as shopping, budgeting, cleaning, laundry etc. Self referrals are accepted but if the individual is funded from a local authority they would need to be involved before any assessment takes place. Information packs and referrals forms can be sent out on request, on receipt of referral an assessment would be arranged.
