Byards Keep
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
Service URL: http://www.voyagecare.com
At Byards Keep we support six adults with a learning disability and complex physical needs.
This service is a large, detached property in the rural countryside of Greylees, close to Sleaford. This area has some of Britain's most beautiful countryside, and has excellent road and rail transport links.
Local amenities include shops, a Post Office, supermarkets and the market place. There are health services nearby, as well as leisure facilities including bowling centres, sports facilities, art galleries and riding schools.
The environment has been designed to be sensitive to the needs of people with severe physical impairments, such as wheelchair users, and those who require a low stimulus environment, whilst retaining a warm and homely décor.
There are six bedrooms, each of which has an en-suite bathroom with either a bath or a shower, depending on individual preference. All bedrooms have four-way profiling beds and the option of a ceiling-mounted tracking hoist. The service also has a fully-equipped sensory room.
We use a wide range of communication tools, aids and systems to enable people to make their preferences known. Non violent crisis intervention (NVCI) is part of our service approach.
