Leonard Cheshire Disability's 'Can Do' project has been in
existence for more than three years and is funded to enable young adults who
have a disability to build confidence and personal development through
activities and volunteering. Currently, they are looking for 16-35 years
who have an autism spectrum disorder and live in Bristol and the surrounding
areas to take part in a new Befriender and Mentoring Programme. Those who
either would like to be a Befriender/Mentor or those who would like to have a
Befriender/Mentor are welcome to apply. Participants will initially receive
training about Leonard Cheshire Disability and what Befriending or
Mentoring is. Potential Befrienders or Mentors will need to undergo a
Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. Out of pocket expenses will be paid
and ongoing support offered from the Can Do Project Coordinator..
