Carmarthenshire Autistic Spectrum Disorder Service

Main information

Type of service: Outreach

The Intensive Support Service is geared to the needs of adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and related conditions. It is our aim to actively intervene in the disabling effects of autism by reducing anxiety and assisting in learning. We will provide access for service users so that they can participate in various activities within the community such as supported employment, sporting activities, crafts etc. Service users also have access to professional support such as physiotherapy, community nursing and respite care. At the foundation of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder Service is 'Person Centered Planning', which is planning on an individual basis. Person Centered Planning (PCP) will involve the supporters of each individual ie family, friends, carers, professionals and advocates. PCP will devise a lifestyle plan which empowers the service users to achieve their life goals..
