Main information

Type of service: Day schools, Schools

The Additionally Resourced Provision for Social and Communication Difficulties (SCD) is based on a mainstream site to enable locational, social and functional programmes of integration to be organised on an individual basis as appropriate. The department is for six children who have been subject to a multi professional assessment. It is staffed with one teacher and two assistants. The children also have speech therapy twice a week. Programmes are developed for each child, and the children may also have the opportunity to work supported in a mainstream class. The educational psychologist may also visit the children to assess their needs. We have a class of up to 6 pupils (for foundation stage up to year 2). Children integrate into mainstream classes when appropriate. We also offer reverse integration. We have our own room and garden but have full use of the school site, including ICT suite and playgrounds. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils if they are known to us.
