Catcote is a secondary special school with specialist college status for Business and Enterprise. We cater for learners with a wide range of special needs. The students have learning difficulties ranging from profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) to moderate learning difficulties (MLD). We now also cater for a small group of students with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The number of pupils with autism has increased over recent years. We now have a specialist class for learners with autism at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and another for students aged 14-19 years. Some students with a diagnosis of autism or Asperger syndrome may be placed in other classes around the school depending on their ability or additional needs. We offer personalised programmes with close pastoral support. The school has well resourced classrooms, information and communication technology (ICT) facilities, specialist teaching areas and work related learning and enterprise bases including a coffee shop, hair and beauty salon, horticulture area and reprographics. Catcote Futures provides Further Education (FE) for students who are 19 to 25 years of age with a wide range of difficulties. We also offer accredited programmes of study for small groups of 25+ students (Life Long Learners). The number of students with autism has increased over the years and as a result we now have a small group of students with autism, attached to the school's specialist class.
