CC Speech and Language
Main information
Type of service: Speech and Language Therapists (independent)
CC Speech and Language focuses on the child. If the child can communicate then the child is more likely to be understood. This will increase the child's opportunities in life. My approach to therapy combines Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) principles with Speech and Language targets in order to reach a child's maximum potential. This is particularly beneficial for those with autism spectrum conditions (ASC), as behaviour is often a large part of the therapeutic process.
Several areas are assessed: communication and play, language and literacy, social interaction and pragmatics, and participation (which may include Augmentative and Alternative Communication, AAC). Short and long term aims are then set in collaboration with parents and if necessary, any other professional.
I have experience in working with pre-school and school age children with autism, Asperger syndrome, developmental delay, speech impairment, dyspraxia, second language speakers, children with dyslexia and specific language impairment and Down's syndrome. If you need help with any aspect of your communication, please contact me to discuss your individual needs.
