Cheshire Autism Practical Support -
ChAPS aims to support families with autism spectrum condition (ASC) whether
diagnosed or not, living in Cheshire. . . ChAPS activities include: Monthly
parents meetings in: Ellesmere
Port on the 1st Thursday in the month; Runcorn on the 2nd Monday in the month;
Northwich on the 2nd Monday in the month; Chester on the 3rd Monday in the month;
and Crewe on the last Tuesday in the month. . . A group specifically for parents,
carers and partners of adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which meets
on the 3rd Thursday of the month.. . Activities in Halton include monthly access to a playbarn, swimming, youth club and
free access to a science museum.. . After-school clubs for 7-11 year olds
with ASC, on Tuesdays in Northwich, 5pm-6.30pm, £5 per
session.. . An annual conference.. . Leading the Criminal Justice Forum
setup to increase autism awareness and provide training to emergency personnel
on how to deal with people with autism. An Attention Card has been produced,
designed for people with a medical diagnosis of autism or Asperger syndrome to
carry with them.. . Working in partnership with The Bren
Project to provide personalised supported employment and employability
qualifications for adults.. . Activities for children in Northwich
include swimming and trampolining.. . Activities for children in the Chester
area include Kidz Club, Youth Club and interactive pony sessions.. . Activities in Knutsford include pony
riding..
