We do see children up to 18 years with complex neurodisability, but our Autism Diagnostic service is primarily for under 5 years only. So our service is mainly aimed at pre-schoolers, although we see some adolescents. We also we cater for children with cerebral palsy and genetic conditions which are associated with developmental problems.
Assessment procedure: Paediatrician overview, speech and language therapy and psychology assessment together for pre-schoolers - separately for school age children. CARS and DISCO sometimes used.
Follow up service: Ad hoc.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes, try to depending on need and availability, professions involved: clinical psychology, paediatrics, speech and language therapy.
