Claremont Community Primary School
Main information
Type of service: Day schools, Nursery and pre-schools, Schools, Respite and short breaks
Our children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are educated in mainstream classes. However, there are facilities to withdraw children if, during the school day, they are unable to cope with classroom expectations. Massage and relaxation is used with both a curative and preventative intention. Special arrangements are made to enable children to cope with lunchtimes eg a circus skills area, lunchtime club, art club. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils and must be Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked. Holiday respite services are open to people external to the school. From March 2005 this school will cater for children under 3 years old.
