Clearly Cool Clubs
Main information
Type of service: Play and leisure
The Clearly Cool Clubs are run to enable us to provide all families with some much needed respite during the many long school holidays. These specialist clubs are provided by Clearly Speaking http://www.clearlyspeaking.org.uk/ and offer a wide range of topics and activities for children and young people aged five to nineteen years of age and are targeted to age and ability levels as is appropriate. We also provide opportunities for friendships locally and regular meetings through the longer summer holidays. Our two weekly youth clubs are held on alternate Sundays at Buckingham Youth Club in partnership/funded by Buckinghamshire County Council's Short Breaks Program; Juniors 5 - 12 year olds: 10am - 12pm Seniors 13 - 19 year olds: 1pm - 3.30pm. The youth clubs allow us to work more closely with children and young people in a safe, supportive environment and help to teach more appropriate social communication skills. We also support young people with issues regarding peer and family relationships to enable them to recognise how their behaviour may cause others to react negatively towards them and therefore how to change their behaviour to gain a response which is more appropriate or positive. Please check the website for current activities.
