Collinson Court
Main information
Type of service: Day services, Residential services
Collinson Court provides support and accommodation for individuals with autism and behaviours that challenge. We provide quality support that is based on respect for individuals and their right to make choices. Our support is focused on individual needs and enabling people to live as independently as possible. Our approach to support: The support provided by Collinson Court is delivered as part of a multidisciplinary team approach, designed according to individual needs and wishes. We provide specialist training for the staff at Collinson Court, including person-centred thinking, behaviour management, speech, signs and symbols/Makaton sign language and sensory awareness, to provide the best possible support for all individuals. To provide holistic support for everyone we support, we work with other community health services including: General Practitioners (GPs); Psychiatrists; The community learning disability team; Occupational therapists; and Physiotherapists. All individuals are encouraged to be involved in their person-centred plans and risk assessments. Collinson Court promotes Priory Adult Care' communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Individuals' families are invited to come to the house, and everyone at Collinson Court values their support.
