Type of service: Diagnostic services, Child Development Centres (CDC)
The Communication Disorders Assessment Team provides a multi-disciplinary diagnostic service for children aged 0 to 18 and living in Dumfries and Galloway. The team meets at the Nithbank Child Development Centre, Gatehouse Surgery and other venues as required. Requests for a Tier 1 Community Assessment Pack are received at Nithbank Child Development Centre.
Assessment procedure: DISCO Clinical observations/assessments.
Follow up service: Post-diagnostic information pack provided and follow up discussion offred by the team; Reffreal on to Earlybird; support/advice/training from Autism Spectrum Disorders Integrated Network (ASDIN) as appropriate.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes: Educational Psychology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology.
