Type of service: Diagnostic services
This is a diagnostic service run at St Thomas' Hospital.
Assessment procedure: Each child is allocated a clinic slot of 3 hours. Routinely there will be a medical professional, clinical psychologist and speech and language therapist. An occupational therapist is available where the referral indicates this is necessary. .
Follow up service: Medication, cognitive behaviour therapy for mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and OCD, behavioural interventions for challenging behaviour or other behavioural problems such as sleep or feeding difficulties, school liaison, psychoeducation around diagnosis.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes, professions involved: Clinical psychology, psychiatry, paediatrics, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, clinical nurse specialist.
