Type of service: Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

The service caters for children from toddler age up to 18 years old if in full time education (16 years otherwised). The service caters for patients with autism spectrum disorders if they have accompanying mental health problems. In situations where ASD assessment and diagnosis is required, patients are normally referred on to Paediatricians or Clinical Psychologists based elsewhere. However at present the Team does not have a set policy on this and the procedure may vary depending on each individual case. Self referrals are accepted.
