This is a clinical psychology and diagnostic practice based in Surrey. Approaches used: diagnostic assessments for autism spectrum disorders and cognitive assessments for learning difficulties, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), eclectic, solution focused and brief therapy. Regarding diagnosis: Dr Connor gathers past developmental and assessment information to understand thinking, personality style and has discussion with relevant professionals. She uses the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) with children, the Asperger Syndrome (and high-functioning autism) Diagnostic Interview (ASDI) with people age 16 years onwards. Specialises in assessing and carrying out therapeutic work with Women who may be or are on the Autism Spectrum. Includes family members in the assessment where relevant, provides feedback and recommendations as well as develops a plan regarding how to take things forward. Regarding clinical psychology: it provides therapeutic work for a range of mental health problems associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) including anxiety, depression, self-esteem difficulties amongst others. She works with clients on developing problem solving skills for a range of different situations. She will work with people regarding difficulties in the home and workplace as required. She also carries out work with families and regarding marital relationships..
Assessment procedure: Works independently, but makes referrals and does joint work with specific colleagues in relevant professions. Uses standardised assessments and a structured, time limited CBT approach in her interventions. .
