Cornwall Music Therapy Trust was established in August 2006 to oversee and help fund the development of and research into music therapy in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Through partnership schemes its aim is to support those suffering from mental or physical illness or living with disabilities, emotional or behavioural problems of any description or in need of rehabilitation as a result of such illness, by the provision of music therapy. Music Therapy can provide emotional support and help clients to: Express feelings; Build self-confidence; Develop social and communication skills; Understand themselves better; Recognise and manage any unhelpful behaviours or thoughts. The Trust regularly runs therapy sessions to support clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders at the Three Bridges Centre.
