The service provides a full diagnostic assessment and report for adults suspected of having high functioning ASD i.e. not needing specialist learning disability services. Assessment is multidisciplinary and in line with NICE CG 142. The assessment includes evaluation of whether any mental disorder may be present. The assessment leads to a report covering diagnosis and the person's level of functioning including their strengths, needs and aspirations. Clinics available in Birkenhead and Chester. Diagnostic assessment includes one post diagnostic review but at present no further follow on services have been commissioned.
Assessment procedure: Assessment is multidisciplinary and in line with NICE Guidance CG 142. .
Follow up service: Diagnostic assessment includes one post diagnostic review. .
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Includes psychiatric and occupational therapy assessments.
