Craigentinny Primary School is a school of around 200 pupils on the east side of Edinburgh, serving the community of Craigentinny, Lochend and Restalrig. The school has integrated nursery and 2 language and communication classes for children with an autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). The school was built in 1935, and comprises 22 classrooms, some of which are used for music, resources, a learning support base and a wraparound room. It also has a library, a large gymnasium and a multi-purpose hall. Within the extensive grounds there is football pitch and a community woodland. There is a learning support teacher and an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher and two visiting specialists. The school is well supported by an active school board and parent-teacher association (PTA). Volunteers to work with the pupils may be accepted.
