Cricket Green School is an all age special school for children with diverse learning needs. All pupils are statemented and follow Individual Education Plans. The school follows the National Curriculum adapted to the needs of the pupils, and small group or individual work is offered based on needs. Support staff assist the teachers. The school has a commitment to ongoing training offers Inset to mainstream schools. Attendance at courses is encouraged and weekly staff training is in place. Pupils can access mainstream schools and an In-reach service is provided to help other special needs pupils. The school has a strong ethos of inclusion and is proactive in its philosophy and approach. A recent Ofsted (2010) described the school as 'a happy and outstandingly successful school', and judged it to be outstanding in all areas. There is a strong ethos of pastoral support with a commitment to the development of the pupils of all ages and needs. The atmosphere of the school is encouraging and recognises the achievements of all who are part of it. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
