The Croft Child and Family Unit is an in-patient and day-patient mental health care unit for children under 12 and their families. Area of expertise: children under 12 with complex emotional, social and behavioural problems including autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, Tourette's syndrome, OCD and eating disorders; also attachment disorders and the impact of parental mental health on child development.
Assessment procedure: Initial out patient appointment (1 1/2 hours).
Follow up service: Yes, transition work usually 4 sessions or more if commissioned.
Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes, professions involved: clinical psychologist, paediatrics, psychiatry, nursing, teaching, music therapy, family therapy, child counselling and social work.
