Dee Banks School is a specialist day school for communication and interaction, catering for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties. We have a range of facilities including sensory rooms, softplay, medical facilities, swimming pool and outdoor play areas. We use a wide range of interventions alongside the national curriculum and early years frameworks including intensive applied behaviour analysis (IABA), Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped CHildren (TEACCH), picture exchange communication system (PECS), aromatherapy, massage, social storiesTM, hydrotherapy, makaton, occupational therapy (OT), part-time (PT) speech and language therapist (SALT), intensive interaction and social skills groups. Out of the 11 class groups, there are 4 autism spectrum disorder (ASD) specific classes that take pupils from 2-19 years old and 1 class for pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
