Type of service: Diagnostic services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Child Development Centres (CDC)
This centre provide services for children with a whole wide range of additional needs (not just autism).Therapy is provided for preschool children with 2 or more areas of significant developmental delay. Diagnosis is not required. Autism assessment is provided for all children up to age 5 and older children with a learning disability..
Primary & High school children without a learning disability can access assessment via the Neurodevelopmental team. Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Service (CALDS) team based at 'Hyfrydle' provide behavioural support to families of children aged 5-19 with a learning disability (with or without autism). .
CAMHS (based elsewhere) provide services to children without LD (with/without autism). Hyfrydle houses a multi-agency team of staff offering services to families with a child with Additional Needs including SLT, OT, Physio, Nurses, Specialist Nursery Nurses, Health Care Assistants, .
Foundation Phase Advisory Teachers ALN (Team includes Specialist Nursery Nurses, school link workers), Paediatricians, Hearing assessments, Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Psychiatrist. Services are also available in Community for children without 2 or more significant areas of developmental delay. Preschool referrals are often made to Hyfrydle by these community professionals e.g. SLT, Physiotherapist. Health Visitors tend to refer to Paediatrician who makes the referral to Hyfrydle. Any Paediatrician /Therapist can refer to the Multi-agency team on the MAP referral form (under 5yrs 2 areas of significant developmental delay) or the CALDS referral form (5-19 yrs with LD)..

Multi-disciplinary assessment: Yes, professions involved: linical psychology, psychiatry, paediatrics, speech and language therapy, education - school, educational psychologist, community nursing team- children with disabilities.
