Derby City Learning Disability Partnership Board

Main information

Type of service: Learning Disability Partnership Boards

As part of Valuing People, the Government has asked each local council to set up a Partnership Board. Derby City Partnership Board meets regularly at the Revive Healthy Living Centre (every 2 months) to talk about any issues and achievements since the last meeting. We work together to make each other aware of any issues you may be facing since the last meeting and talk about how we can make this better. We also talk about things that have been done well and how we can keep this going. Its job is to make sure that things get better for people with learning disabilities.

The board is made up of a group of people including people with learning disabilities, staff from the City Council, Advocacy, family carers and staff from Health. We want everything to be fair; because of this we like to vote on important decisions and to make sure that decisions are based on what you want. Services include: Housing Options Advice Line. Housing Options is a national charity that provides free advice and support to people with a learning disability, families and organisations; Dignity in Care - Dignity in Care is about providing care that supports and promotes a person's self respect. We are trying to raise the profile of Dignity in Care in Derby.
