Type of service: Nursery and pre-schools

A specialist team of Early Years Professionals who work with children with special educational needs from birth to when the child starts school. The Team work in Derby City. Following a referral from either parents/carers of Professionals, contact will be made with the family or setting and a visit may be arranged to gather further information about the child's needs and the service that the Team can provide. The Team works with other agencies e.g. speech and language therapists and health visitors, and will involve them as appropriate with parental consent. As part of the Specialist Teaching and Psychology Service they work closely with Educational Psychologists and Specialist Support Teachers.
