The full name of the service is Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service, Learning Disability Service (CAMHS). Referral to the service is via professionals only. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service provides assessment and management to children presenting with mental health needs with moderate to severe learning disability. The service offers a diagnostic assessment for autism and provides a package of pharmacological and psychosocial intervention. Clients can be assessed through home visits or visits to their nursery, school or college. Consultant Child Psychiatrist at the service may be able to attend tribunals/educational appeal committees..
