Type of service: Advocacy (general), Family support and information services

Nikki Haswell and her team of experienced Advisors will help with Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payments, Employment and Support Allowance and Carers Allowance applications, mandatory reconsiderations and appeals. They will also assist you to make an application for Deputyship to manage the affairs of an individual who lacks the mental capacity to make their own decisions or help create and register a Lasting Power of Attorney. The Adviceline is staffed Monday to Friday 9am - 1.30pm. Appointments and home visits are available during normal office hours, and outside these times, by arrangement. This is a pan disability service but certain aspects are highly relevant to people with autism. Two of the team members (one with distinction) have passed the CILEX Law for the Elderly Client Level 3 module ,which covers the mental capacity act and which is just as relevant to disabled people as to older people.
