Dove House
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
Dove House provides specialist support for four people who have autistic spectrum disorders and learning disabilities and exhibit behaviours that challenge. The staff team offer support for healthcare, emotional, social and personal needs while maintaining a fun atmosphere. Each individual is supported to plan a weekly timetable of activities they enjoy, both inside and outside of their home, which enables them to develop skills, work towards goals or simply enjoy themselves. Each person is also supported to complete daily living skills and encouraged to participate in household decisions through regular house meetings. The people that live at Dove House are encouraged to be as independent as possible in all aspects of their daily lives and are supported to attend health appointments and work if they choose. The people living at Dove House have varied communication needs and staff are trained and experienced in supporting everyone in the way they prefer. Each person has a detailed communication support guideline which is updated regularly.
Dove House is in Doveridge, a large village three miles east of Uttoxeter and within a 30 minute drive of Derby and Burton on Trent. It has excellent road links to the A50 while retaining a very rural location in a beautiful village. Over the road is a lovely park with lots of fun days and summer fetes taking place in the summer.
