The name of the unit for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the Learning Support Base (LSB). Dove House is a school for approximately 149 pupils, around 50 per cent with ASD. 15 pupils work out of the Learning Support Base which functions as a support facility to enable pupils to access the main school. Other ASD pupils in the school, who do not work out of the LSB, work in discreet Asperger teaching groups.
