Dudley Learning Disability Partnership Board
Main information
Type of service: Learning Disability Partnership Boards
The ‘Valuing People’ report said that Councils had to set up a Partnership Board . This would have people from different organisations such as social services, health, advocacy, Connexions, Mencap, housing, leisure getting together with people with learning disabilities and family carers. Their job is to put things in place to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities. This means providing better services and helping communities to include people with learning disabilities so they can live like everyone else. The job of Dudley’s Partnership Board is:
- To see that the things in Valuing People happen
- To see that services are suitable for everyone
- To make sure that the Council and Primary Care Trust buy services that people want and need
- To make sure that everyone is included in planning services
- To make sure everyone works together
- To have say about what the council and health want to do before it happens
- To make sure that people with a learning disability have a voice
- To make sure that health services meet the needs of people with learning disability.
