Type of service: Nursery and pre-schools

An early educational service for families who have a baby or young child (0-5yrs) who may need extra support to help him or her learn new skills. All families living within the East Riding boundary who have a pre-school child that may need extra help to support their development can request help from the Portage service. Portage workers and parents work together to help children learn new skills. Close liaison with other agencies, eg. speech and language therapists ensures families are offered co-ordinated support. The Service is able to loan toys and equipment to children who are involved in Portage.
