Main information
Type of service: Further & Higher Education
East Berkshire College is a Further Education (FE) College with colleges in Windsor and Langley. In 2013, Ofsted judged us as good with outstanding features. We have programmes for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, offering discrete courses for young adults from age 16 such as Personal Options Skills for Work, a specialist provision for young adults with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Windsor Personal Options Program is a specialist autism provision for learners working from Entry Level 2 upwards. Our curriculum is flexible with the study program focusing on individuals developing their confidence, social & communication, functional & employability skills through innovative teaching techniques, personal development, and business enterprise and personalised and supported work experience opportunities. 100% of learners last year progressed from this course either into FE or employment. Our special educational needs (SEN) provision at both our Langley and Windsor campus' has now developed into a responsive curriculum supporting a range of learners with additional needs from pre-entry through to Level 2. We have a record of supporting young adults with ASD onto higher levels of education including A Levels and vocational training in areas as diverse as Information Technology (IT), construction, engineering, creative studies, hospitality & catering, retail and public services. Service users living outside the UK are accepted if funding is available.
