Eloise Armour Independent Speech and Language Therapist
Main information
Type of service: Assessment, Speech and Language Therapists (independent)
Specialist Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist, and member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Private Practice and registered with the Health Professions Council. Having graduated with an honours degree in Human Communication and Communication Disorders from Manchester University I then further extended my knowledge and training by attaining an honours degree in Speech and Language Pathology and Therapy from Manchester Metropolitan University. This was followed by nine years working as a speech and Language therapist for the NHS specialising in children. This included working in community clinics, special and mainstream nurseries and special and mainstream schools. Since moving back to Aberdeen I have been working independently. I work using a variety of techniques and approaches, working directly or indirectly with the child as well as providing support and information to the parents/education staff, etc. Individual assessment sessions are available for all aspects of communication and speech and language, from pre-verbal to high level language skills. These may involve the use of standardised speech and language therapy tests as well as informal structured observation and interview with the parents/staff. Home visits are standard and I am happy to visit a child's nursery or school.
