A CD ROM learning tool for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) who can find it difficult to understand emotions. The program trains the user to recognise emotions from different facial expressions and encourages them to learn how other factors, such as situations, events, thoughts and feelings, can influence emotions. The CD ROM is suitable for children over 7 years old with ASD, children who have experienced adverse circumstances and have problems understanding emotion, adults with ASD, adults with learning difficulties and anyone who struggles to recognise and understand emotions. Users of the CD ROM need basic reading and verbal understanding, normal vision and motor skills to view the screen and operate the mouse, and familiarity with using computers. A single-user home license is available, as well as a multi-user license for organisations. The author of the program is Dr Miriam Silver, a chartered clinical psychologist who works with children with ASD.
