Evergreen Primary School caters for 165 pupils with special educational needs (SEN). There are 4 designated classes for pupils with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD): Nursery, Reception, Key Stage 1 (KS1) and KS2. A structured Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-handicapped CHildren (TEACCH) approach is used within this provision. The school also offers after school and holiday clubs. Evergreen School was purpose built and opened in 2005. There are hydrotherapy facilities, sports facilities, a sensory room, a soft playroom, a library, a medical room, a sensory garden, a music room and an art & design room on site. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Holiday respite services are open to pupils outside the school. They cater for severe learning difficulties (SLD).
