Main information
Type of service: Day schools, Schools
Fintry Language Unit was established in 1982 and is an integral part of Fintry Primary School. The Unit aims to meet the special educational needs of children of primary school age who display severe or specific difficulties with one or more aspects of speech, language and communication and this also includes children with an autistic spectrum disorder. Close links are fostered with mainstream classes and all children are integrated into their mainstream class for part of the week depending on the needs of the child. All teaching staff have a particular interest as well as experience of working with children with an autism spectrum disorder and children with speech, language and communication difficulties. Volunteers to work with the pupils may be accepted.
