This Consensus service offers accommodation for 6 individuals with learning disabilities. Its specialism is in supporting people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and behaviours which challenge. The service is a well appointed bungalow with six en-suite bedrooms which can be decorated to suit individual tastes and styles. The large garden at the rear of the property enables individuals to grow vegetables and enjoy BBQs in the summer months. Located in the coastal area of Brightlingsea, Four Winds provides individuals with easy access to local amenities and facilities such as restaurants, colleges, a swimming pool and gym, football pitch, doctors surgery, opticians and a Church. People using the service are actively encouraged to participate in community life. The nearby community centre offers a number of weekly entertainment and some individuals enjoy attending the local disco which takes place on a weekly basis. With only a five minute walk to the beach, there are a number of fun filled activities for individuals to participate in, such as picnics and beach games. Four Winds is situated 13 miles from the historic town of Colchester. The service has two vehicles to assist individuals with access into town and enables them to actively engage in the local and wider community as much or as little as they wish. Individuals can enjoy a range of volunteer work opportunities and are also supported to seek full time employment in the local area.
