I work in private practice in Newbury and Winchester. I have a Masters degree in Gestalt psychotherapy and have completed additional training in working with clients with autistic process. I have an 8 year old daughter with autism, PDA, epilepsy and severe sensory processing difficulties and further experience working with teenagers on the autistic spectrum. My core training is in Gestalt. Gestalt is, itself, a highly integrative approach and may explore thoughts, feelings and body process. I consider it a useful approach for working with people with ASD as it focuses on building the moment-to-moment awareness of all three that these clients often lack. Becoming more aware of body process can be particularly helpful in developing emotional insight and regulation, creating a stronger sense of 'self' and in managing anxiety.
